Return Policy - Consumer Guarantees Act Compliance

General Return Conditions

  • You have the right to return an item if it does not meet the guarantees outlined in the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. This includes situations where the product is faulty, damaged, or does not perform as described.

  • If the product is faulty or defective, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund, at your discretion.

Change of Mind

  • Under the Consumer Guarantees Act, returns for change of mind are not required by law. Therefore, change of mind returns are not accepted.

  • However, we do offer a 14-day return window for items that meet our return criteria, subject to a 20% restocking fee.

Return Criteria

  • To qualify for a return, the item must be unused, in its original packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase.

  • Fragrances and perfumes are non-returnable due to hygiene and safety regulations.

Return Process

  • To initiate a return, please contact us at store@the-stockroom.co.nz within 14 days of receiving your item.

  • The customer is responsible for the return shipping costs, and we recommend using a tracked courier service.

Damaged or Faulty Products

  • If your item is damaged or defective, please contact us immediately to arrange a repair, replacement, or refund in accordance with your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act.

  • We will assess and process the return promptly to ensure you receive a fair outcome.

Non-returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned:

  • Sale or clearance items

  • Gift cards

  • Personal care items

  • Perfumes and fragrances (due to hygiene regulations)

  • Custom or personalized products

  • Perishable goods (e.g., food, flowers, plants)

  • Hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases

Refunds and Exchanges

  • Refunds for faulty items will be issued to the original payment method within 10 business days after your return is processed.

  • If the return is accepted, a 20% restocking fee will be applied to all returns that are not deemed faulty.

European Union 14-Day Cooling-Off Period

  • If your order is shipped to the European Union, you have the right to return the item within 14 days for any reason, in line with the EU's Consumer Protection Laws. Items must be unused, with original tags, and in original packaging.
